TSG Hoffenheim condemn the throwing of the firework and apologise to all the spectators in the stadium, our hosts, FC Augsburg, the entire football community, but above all to the people who were injured. In our 16 years of playing in the Bundesliga, it is the first time we have been confronted with such a foolish act. We will do everything in our power to ensure that this remains the one and only incident of its kind.
We are in dialogue with the investigative authorities to assist in fully resolving the case. In addition, we must turn our attention and care to those who have been injured.
In accordance with our core values, TSG stand for peaceful coexistence. As part of our club strategy “TSG is movement”, our daily work is shaped by the values of tolerance, respect, fairness and social responsibility. We also reject any form of violence.
We would like to thank not only the team of match officials led by Dr. Felix Brych, the people responsible at FC Augsburg and the players of both teams for the level-headed, collegial and professional crisis communication, but also the security staff and paramedics who were quickly on-hand to provide help to the injured parties.
A great deal of recognition must also be given to the rest of our fans, who not only distanced themselves verbally and in subsequent statements from this criminal action, but also actively participated in establishing what had happened. We know that the groups close to us always support TSG from the stands in the PreZero Arena as well as in other stadiums for away games with great passion, but never resort to unfair or prohibited means.
We will provide updates on the further development of the events in Augsburg on our various channels and we would like to thank all those who support us in this and beyond this.
