Nils Hachmann has been named as the successor to Mike Diehl as the new stadium announcer for TSG Hoffenheim. Hachmann will be a familiar face to many TSG fans thanks to his work as a TSG.TV presenter, and from now on, he will be taking the reins for the match day show.
“It will be a new experience, and I have great respect for the role,” said Hachmann on his new task, which he will carry out in addition to his work for TSG.TV. “It is a great honour to be part of helping to create a good atmosphere at home games. Speaking in front of 30,000 fans at the stadium will of course be a different feeling than standing in front of a camera. I will definitely be nervous on my first day, but I also feel a great sense of anticipation.”
Hachmann has the utmost respect for his predecessor. “Mike made the stadium show into what it has become over the past 20 years,” said the 28-year-old, but he does want to find his own style. “Ideally, the fans will get the same experience from me in the stadium as they have come to know in recent years.”
Nils Hachmann will make his debut in charge of the stadium show in the big season-opener against Rangers on 29 July (kick-off: 15:30 CET) and will also announce the TSG starting line-up for the first time. “Together with the fans, I want to cheer on the team as much as possible and push them forward – we saw this season just how important the support of the fans is. I’m really looking forward to it.”
