Marie Philipzen out with long-term knee injury

The fears have been confirmed: Marie Philipzen sustained a serious knee injury in the second-division game in Freiburg at the weekend. The 21-year-old is set for several months out with a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of her right knee. Philipzen, who already spent several weeks on the sidelines with a broken arm in the first half-season, has made 16 appearances in the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga this season. The current campaign has also ended prematurely for Leonie Schetter and Marie Steiner. The two attackers had to leave the pitch following fouls in the final minutes of the games against SC Sand and SC Freiburg, and will be out for around three months with syndesmosis ligament injuries.

Tine De Caigny to return to Anderlecht

After two years in the Kraichgau, Tine De Caigny is set to return home: the Belgian striker moved to Germany from RSC Anderlecht in the summer of 2021. She will now make the return trip in time for the start of next season. In her first season at TSG, De Caigny scored three goals in ten Champions League matches and five goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances. The Belgian has scored once in 15 games in the current season.

Kadeřábek out for the foreseeable future

TSG Hoffenheim will have to make do without the services of Pavel Kadeřábek for some time. The defensive player suffered a muscle injury to his left hamstring in Hoffenheim’s 1-0 defeat away to RB Leipzig. The Czech international had to come off in the 69th minute and was replaced by Robert Skov.
