TSG fan Frank has been going to his club’s matches for around 20 years and has experienced their rise from the Regionalliga to the Champions League up close. So for him, there was “absolutely no question” about getting down to the event area in front of the PreZero Arena early on matchday of the club’s anniversary celebrations. A particular highlight was the visit from numerous club legends such as Sebastian Rudy, Carlos Eduardo and Sejad Salihović, who gave a speech on the stage. “It was great to see the guys from back then,” said the 51-year-old, who was particularly pleased to see Carlos Eduardo: “He was the first real star at TSG, and the fact that he travelled here from Brazil shows how much his time here means to him.”
The former attacking artist also confirmed this: “Hoffenheim are a club close to my heart. I experienced many great things with TSG and I’m very happy to be here today,” said the Brazilian.
But the fans had much more to enjoy than insights into club history and conversations with TSG legends; there were numerous food and drink stands and entertainment stalls to help pass the time in the run-up to kick-off.
