Did you know that…

…Matarazzo has not lost any of his last three matches in Munich?

Pellegrino Matarazzo has picked up three draws with his teams on his last three visits to the Allianz Arena. VfB Stuttgart twice played a 2-2 stalemate, while he picked up a point with TSG last season thanks to a 1-1 draw. Only Otto Rehhagel (five), Thomas Schaaf and Jürgen Klopp (four each) have recorded a longer unbeaten streak away to FC Bayern in the Bundesliga.

…TSG have struggled in Munich to date?

Hoffenheim have won only one of their 15 Bundesliga away games against FC Bayern Munich. In addition to that 2-1 victory in October 2019, there have been three draws.

…Bayern are having a strong season?

The men from Munich have 38 points on the board from their 15 matches – their best tally in eight years. In 2015/16, they had two points more at this stage of the season under Pep Guardiola. Bayern have only surpassed 49 goals after 15 matchdays once in their history, notching 50 goals in 1976/77. However, the record champions are only in second place behind an even stronger Leverkusen.

…goals are almost guaranteed?

There have been 98 goals in their previous 30 Bundesliga clashes, which equates to 3.3 per game. Bayern have also always found the net in their last 42 Bundesliga matches, while TSG are currently on a run of 20 consecutive games in which they have scored at least one goal. The two teams boast the longest scoring runs in the league.

…Manuel Neuer is approaching a landmark?

The Bayern keeper is one game away from 500 competitive appearances for FC Bayern, which would draw him level with Bastian Schweinsteiger. Only  Thomas Müller (685) and Philipp Lahm (517) have made more competitive appearances for Bayern this century.
