“David is an extremely dynamic full-back who we were already interested in in the summer. However, it was not possible to sign him at that time. He is quick, strong in attack and can be deployed variably on the left flank in different formations. The loan of Julian Justvan was also subject to the condition that we could acquire another strong alternative for our squad,” explained TSG managing director Alexander Rosen. “We are convinced that we have found this solution in David and are delighted that he will be playing for us for at least the second half of the current season.”
“David is a combative and strong-willed player who will significantly increase the competition within our squad with his qualities,” said Pirmin Schwegler, head of professional football at TSG. “He delivers dangerous and difficult-to-defend crosses and, despite only being 23 years old, already impresses with his enormous presence on the pitch. He will definitely do our team good with his character and ability.”
David Jurásek moved from Slavia Prague to Portuguese club Benfica in the summer of 2023. In the first half of the season, he played six games in the league, three games in the Champions League and one match each in the Super Cup, the Portuguese Cup and the League Cup.
Jurásek played 55 competitive matches for Slavia Prague in the 2022/2023 season, scoring three goals and providing 14 assists. The Czech international has been called up to his national squad on seven occasions, appearing in five matches to date (one assist).
