Maximilian Mittelstädt has left the ‘Old Lady’ and joins VfB Stuttgart ahead of the new season. “We’d have liked to keep Maxi in blue and white, but we respect his desire for a transfer. He developed from an academy prospect into a Bundesliga regular here and has always given everything for our club. We wish him all the best,” said sporting director Benjamin Weber on the move. The decision was not an easy one for the full back. “Everyone knows how much of a connection I have to this – it is and will continue to be very special to me. From the heart, I wish Hertha nothing but the best,” said Mittelstädt.

Mittelstädt joined the club’s youth setup in 2012 and demonstrated his talent early on. His performances at youth level earned him his first professional contract in 2015. After making his Bundesliga debut in spring of the following year, the now-26-year-old went on to record a total of 156 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring four goals and recording 19 assists.

Hertha BSC wish Maxi Mittelstädt all the best on and off the pitch!
