The German Football Association (DFB), which had already arranged the opening matchday in the 3. Liga, has now precisely scheduled Matchdays 2-8.

The opening game against Preußen Münster on 5 August will be followed by a weekend of DFB-Pokal action and then the U23s’ home match against SC Freiburg on 20 August. Four of the first eight fixtures (Matchdays 4-7) overlap with the BVB first-team’s matches.
