Slaven Stanic, 48, began his new role of sporting coordinator on Monday morning. In this newly-created role, Stanic will provide support to the first team in many areas and act as a coordinative liaison with the club’s management.
“As a former player, Slaven knows the ins and outs of the dressing room. He has very good connections to people, has valuable experience from a range of aspects in the football business and will make us even better with his expertise,” says Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl, adding: “Slaven will first get to know the organisation and processes at BVB in the next few weeks and then begin his operational work in full at the start of the new season.”
Stanic’s most recent role was at the agency “projekt b”, where he advised coaches and sports personalities. Commenting on his new position at BVB, Stanic says: “I am very much looking forward to the task at hand and am grateful for the opportunity to put my experience to use on the club side. I will give everything to contribute to sporting success.”
