Borussia Dortmund face Borussia Mönchengladbach at a sold-out SIGNAL IDUNA PARK on Saturday. Kick-off is at 15:30 CET. We have compiled all the info on our Bundesliga home game in a compact format below. This page will be updated if there is any news.
Tickets: Individual places in the “Secondary Market”
SIGNAL IDUNA PARK is sold out for the 10th time in 10 competitive matches this season. Ticket holders who are unable to attend at short notice can still use the BVB Secondary Ticket Market up until two and a half hours before kick-off to give other fans the opportunity to enter the stadium. The Secondary Market closes when the stadium doors open (13:00 CET). Until then, individual tickets will occasionally be available for members to buy. 7,500 away fans will travel from Mönchengladbach.
Referee: Sven Jablonski in charge
The 33-year-old Bremen native will oversee a BVB game for the 11th time. Last season, he officiated the 4-2 Bundesliga defeat in Mönchengladbach, among others. This term, he was the referee for BVB’s match against Wolfsburg (1-0). In total, there have been six BVB victories, two draws and two defeats under Jablonski’s leadership. The Bremen native has previously refereed more than 500 matches in Germany’s three professional leagues. Sascha Thielert and Lasse Koslowski will be the linesmen, with Christian Dingert and Holger Henschel on VAR duty.
Opposition: Defence stabilised
Borussia Mönchengladbach kept a clean sheet for the first time this Bundesliga season in their 4-0 victory over Wolfsburg prior to the international break. Coach Gerardo Seoane’s more compact approach, which has been in place for weeks, bore fruit and despite the absence of defensive leader Ko Itakura, the back line held firm. After several games in a 4-2-3-1 formation, Seoane has switched back to a 3-5-2.
Live broadcast: Sky and Net Radio
The watch can be watched live on TV via Sky. The pre-match coverage will start at 14:00 CET. Presenter Britta Hofmann (pictured) will oversee the programme, with Dietmar Hamann by her side on punditry duty. The BVB match can then be watched on Sky Sport Bundesliga 2 and will be commentated by Jonas Friedrich, with Frank Buschmann the simulcast commentator. The BVB Net Radio will give you the usual Black & Yellow take, with Norbert Dickel and Boris Rupert on the mic. Match highlights plus the press conference and match reactions will be available on BVB TV, among others.
History: Good home record against Gladbach
SIGNAL IDUNA PARK has not proven to be a happy stomping ground for Borussia Mönchengladbach in recent years: BVB have won their last 09 Bundesliga home games against the Foals by a combined scoreline of 32-5. It is BVB’s longest ongoing winning run on home turf against a Bundesliga opponent. BVB have suffered defeat in only one of their last 22 Bundesliga home meetings against the “other Borussia”.
Weather: Rainy and cold
The weather forecast for Saturday: a mixture of sun, clouds and rain with temperatures around 6 degrees. The probability of rain is 70%.
Kits: Traditional colours
Borussia Dortmund will line up as usual for a home game: yellow shirts, black shorts and yellow socks. The visitors from Mönchengladbach will play in all-white strips.
Live ticker: Over to the app
BVB’s digital channels operate at full throttle on matchday. And that’s not only the case during the match, but throughout the matchday too – starting at 09:09 CET of course. In “Matchday Mode”, the BVB app offers news, pictures, posts, videos, statistics and plenty more match info besides. The live ticker starts at kick-off and updates you on all the important moments. In addition to the live ticker, there will be full match highlights, statistics and first-hand info on our social media channels Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The quickest match report in the league can be found on the app and at bvb.de seconds after the final whistle. On our website, there will then be match reactions and facts to read.
