With their extended vacations over, Borussia Dortmund’s internationals have started their preparations for the 2023/24 season. They completed the performance diagnostics at the Hohenbuschei training premises on Saturday.

Nico Schlotterbeck was one of the first to be put to the test by the athletics coaches. New signing Ramy Bensebaini also started life as a Black & Yellow and acquainted himself with his team-mates and the staff.

Ten days after their team-mates, the international players and Sebastien Haller, who had been granted a special holiday, returned to the training premises and worked up a sweat. During the performance diagnostics, which are a prerequisite for training management and injury prevention, the coaches conducted various strength, agility and balance tests. The injured Giovanni Reyna completed an individual programme.

The internationals will return to the Dortmund-Brackel training ground at the beginning of the week. After a 7-0 victory in the first friendly away to Westfalia Rhynern, Borussia Dortmund are preparing for their second pre-season fixture on Wednesday (19/07). Kick-off at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen will be at 18:00 CET. (cr)
