After the 3-1 win in Milan, Mats Hummels and Niclas Füllkrug shared their perspective on the match and on the battle for top spot with Paris Saint-Germain.

Mats Hummels (to Prime): “I think that we got a deserved win. If you disregard the way that we played out many of our attacks in the first half, when we had a lot of space, we played a good all-round game. We were well in the match from the beginning and were able to take away a lot of the atmosphere with possession. It’s unbelievably good fun to play Champions League football in a stadium like this. I told the boys that they should not be influenced by it but inspired by it. We have to deliver once again in two weeks. If it’s only first place at stake, it will be a wonderful occasion in a wonderful atmosphere. We’ve now grown and are a squad that is ready to work on the pitch. We’ve only had slip-ups against Bayern, in Stuttgart, which felt like a 4-0 defeat, and in Paris.”

Niclas Füllkrug (to Prime): “We played a very good game, we’ve played many good games in this group apart from the first match in Paris. It was a deserved victory, a good performance. We had to work intensively off the ball. Our strategy came off. We had space with the ball time and time again. We often made wrong decisions with it in the first half, we used the space better in the second. Now we’re looking forward to Paris. We always have a special atmosphere at home which every opponent struggles with.” (br)
