Ahead of the home match against Union Berlin, the new fan club wall was inaugurated in SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. The names of all BVB’s fan clubs have been immortalised on the wall.

The wall was commissioned to commemorate the founding of the 1000th official BVB fan club in autumn 2022. For the same reason, a special exhibit on fan clubs had already been put together at the BORUSSEUM. “Reaching that milestone made us very proud. But we are also very grateful for the great voluntary commitment of more than 65,000 fan club members,” explains Björn Hegemann, head of the fan relations department. “We want to give something back to the fan clubs and that’s how the idea came about to represent all the fan clubs on a huge wall in the stadium. We would like to say a big thank you to all the fan clubs with this.”

With the fan club wall in the south-west corner of the stadium (level 1), the fan relations department are looking to immortalise all existing official BVB fan clubs in the stadium. It is now on show for all BVB fan clubs and fans on home match days and on stadium tours in the south-west corner of the stadium. All BVB fan clubs now have the opportunity to search for the name of their fan club on the wall and take a group picture in front of the wall. “The fans are the backbone of Borussia Dortmund. They are what makes Borussia Dortmund special. It’s a great idea to document this in a prominent spot inside the stadium,” says managing director Carsten Cramer.

The name of each official BVB fan club is on the wall. Currently, 1013 fan clubs are immortalised on the wall, including more than 200 international fan clubs. The names have been arranged at random. The individual badges of the fan clubs can be swapped out, for example in the event of a name change. Space was deliberately left to expand the wall to include new fan clubs. New names will be added at regular intervals during the year.
