The Sports Court of the German Football Association (DFB) has fined Borussia Dortmund a total of €88,000 for three instances of unsporting conduct by their supporters. The club may spend up to €29,300 of that amount on measures to improve safety or prevent violence.

At least 48 pyrotechnic objects were set off inside the away sector during the Bundesliga game away to FC Schalke 04 on 11 March 2023. A Bengal flare that was thrown towards the pitch struck a journalist. At the Bundesliga match against Borussia Mönchengladbach on 13 May 2023, 15 pyrotechnic items were set off.
