Borussia Dortmund central defender Mats Hummels has been suspended for one match by the DFB Sports Court for the professional foul that earned him a red card against Leipzig. The 34-year-old will therefore not be available to BVB for their upcoming away game in Augsburg (Saturday at 15:30 CET).

Hummels was sent off by referee Sven Jablonski for committing a foul on Leipzig forward Lois Openda in the 15th minute of last weekend’s 3-2 defeat.

The verdict in full: “The Sports Court of the German Football Association (DFB) has imposed a ban of one-match in the licensed professional leagues on Mats Hummels of Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in single-judge proceedings following an indictment for unsportsmanlike conduct by the DFB Control Committee. In addition, the player is also suspended for all of his club’s other league matches until the ban expires.”
