The Borussia Dortmund women’s football team have won their friendly against Kreisliga outfit TuS Saxonia Münster 5-1. The Dortmund ladies, who secured their Landesliga promotion last weekend, played in front of 500 spectators in Münster on Sunday.
BVB started the match with a changed 4-4-2 formation. And the Black & Yellows did not need a long time to find their feet in the game. With only five minutes on the clock, Luisa Bergmann scored an early goal to make it 1-0. Anna Kurenbach doubled the lead to 2-0 a short while later (11).
In an eventful first half, Münster reduced the deficit with a goal from Jonna Brümmer on the 21-minute mark. The Dortmund ladies subsequently used long balls in particular to create chances with ease that were efficiently converted. Carolin Kaul made it 3-1 (29), before Annika Herbig increased the advantage to 4-1 a short while later (35). Marina Jung rounded off the scoring in the first period, slotting home a penalty awarded for a foul in stoppage time (45+2).
Coach Thomas Sulewski made four subs at the break. There was a lull in the game after the interval with no noteworthy opportunities for either team, meaning the half-time scoreline of 5-1 remained unchanged until the final whistle.
With victory sealed in the friendly, the BVB women will now prepare to face SuS Hörde in the Kreispokal quarter-final on Thursday. Kick-off at Sportplatz am Schallacker will be at 19:00 CET.
