The Borussia Dortmund women’s footballers ran out comfortable 13-0 (4-0) winners over DJK Spvgg. Herten in their first home game in the Landesliga. The clear victory saw the BVB women take over pole position in the table and Mandy Reinhardt equal a goal record.

Six goals in one game – Hannah Goosmann achieved that feat against Teutonia Lanstrop in October 2021. Almost two years later, Mandy Reinhard equalled this goal record, the striker bagging half a dozen goals in a dominant 13-0 victory on Matchday 2 of the Women’s Landesliga season. Reinhardt opened the scoring in the third minute when she slotted home following lovely work by Virginia Glänzer and Danelle Tan. A two-goal salvo by Marie Grothe in the 13th and 18th minutes made matters clear at an early stage of the match. The Borussia ladies controlled the game and scored their fourth goal of the match through Danelle Tan before the break (42). “Many of the goals were extremely well created and the girls implemented the training contents outstandingly on the pitch,” said a satisfied head coach Thomas Sulewski.

A furious quarter of an hour in the second period made it a double-digit scoreline. The Bezirksliga champions scored six goals between the 47th and the 64th minutes. Reinhardt was responsible for three goals, with Tan scoring two more. With three goals and three assists, the new signing from Singapore was among the standout performers along with Reinhardt. The goal that made it 6-0 was also scored by a new face in Black & Yellow, Merle Greulich. On the topic of new signings: Lisa Gomulka skillfully pulled the strings in midfield. Marah Tayeh injected a lot of tempo on the flank and assisted a goal. Hannah Geldschläger also made an impact following her substitution and scored the goal to make it 11-0 in the 72nd minute. “They have all already mastered the running channels, are already very well integrated and are doing a top job,” said Sulewski in praise of the five newcomers who played today.

Reinhardt put the finishing touches on a one-sided victory by scoring a brace in the 76th and 78th minutes. “We’ve arrived in the Landesliga,” beamed Sulewski, whose team have taken over pole position in the Landesliga and already have the opportunity to extend their lead on Friday 8 September. The BVB women will be away to BSV Heeren 09/24 at 19:00 CET.
