Sunshine, school holidays, a new season – many fans made their way to the Hohenbuschei training ground on Tuesday afternoon in order to watch the Borussia Dortmund first team train.

The queue at the Jugendstadion was already long by the early afternoon and not all the fans ultimately got a place. In total, 1,500 spectators attended the first public training session at the Jugendstadion in Dortmund-Brackel. They watched a training group that has grown significantly larger since the return of the internationals at the weekend, with new signings Ramy Bensebaini and Felix Nmecha featuring for the first time. The recently injured Karim Adeyemi and Youssoufa Moukoko were also able to complete the session with their team-mates.

After the warm-up programme, the players completed passing drills. They were then challenged by some match scenarios on a small pitch, which resulted in many shots, goals and saves – much to the delight of the spectators. The training session was followed by extra-time, as the players fulfilled numerous autograph and selfie requests.

Borussia will continue to train in Dortmund this week, with two friendlies coming up on Wednesday (in Oberhausen at 18:00 CET) and Saturday (in Erfurt at 16:30 CET). The BVB players will then fly to the USA on Monday (24/07) to continue their pre-season preparations and play friendlies against San Diego Loyal, Manchester United (in Las Vegas) and Chelsea (in Chicago).
