Two completely different halves

You have completed the 70th year of your life this Sunday, 13 August. The congratulations of all Black & Yellows are assured.

For 17 years, we worked together on the board for the good of Borussia Dortmund. We celebrated wins and mourned defeats.

I had already been back in office for a year when the members’ meeting elected you to succeed Aki Watzke as our treasurer in November 2005. I quickly got to know and value a reliable and always helpful person who played a major role in stabilising and consolidating the economic predicament of the e.V., which had run into difficulties. This close cooperation has resulted in a deep friendship. 

In these 17 years, I have also learned that doctors can heed the principle of medical confidentiality beyond the scope of their actual profession. You were and are as silent as a grave, which has contributed in no small measure to the fact that the trusting work conducted in the executive committee has reached an exemplary level.

But on this 13 August, we shall not be silent; we shall celebrate loudly together!
