It was thanks to Gregor Kobel that Borussia Dortmund celebrated a fortuitous but all-the-more-valuable 2-1 away win at Eintracht Frankfurt. The match reactions.

Edin Terzic (to Sky): “It was a real fight; we got a large portion of luck. It was an important and amazing win. It was intense, but not the perfect football. We didn’t have many chances to score but we took them. The three points were important today.”

Mats Hummels (to Sky and BVB TV): “We fought, and Frankfurt didn’t take their chances. It was very intense, a heated atmosphere. We were playing on a difficult surface; that was tough for both teams. Six points in the league, through in the Champions League after five rounds of matches – it’s been a very successful week. What Greg has done since the mistake against Union has been very, very impressive.”

Nico Schlotterbeck (to BVB TV): “Frankfurt were better. You don’t win all that many games like that: we gave too much away. Gregor did a super job yet again. What I cannot reproach the team for are willingness to run and mentality. We tried to show that on the pitch. I hope we can start a run now.”

Gregor Kobel (to Sky): “We showed a super spirit today and put up a real fight. But we gave away lots of chances. However, we will carry forward the momentum; we’ve done superbly in terms of points recently. In terms of quality, we belong at the top. It was a bit tense today; we need to do several things better. But we fought superbly and have won twice in a row. We wanted to start a run, now we need to keep going.”

Salih Özcan (to BVB TV): “We were more efficient. In the end, we saw it over the line with lots of fight and passion. Greg was crazy again. He kept us in the game, as he did against Man City. We’re lucky that we have him at the back.”
