Mergim Berisha moves to TSG Hoffenheim
The striker joins fellow Bundesliga side
Mergim Berisha has left FC Augsburg and joined fellow Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim with immediate effect. Both sides have chosen to keep the terms of the deal undisclosed.
“I’m grateful that FC Augsburg have allowed me to leave and take the next step in my career. At FCA, I managed to establish myself in the Bundesliga and became a full Germany international, which I am unbelievably proud of,” said Mergim Berisha as he bid farewell to FCA.
“Mergim informed us of his desire to leave the club a while ago and we’ve always indicated that we want to satisfy this wish with an offer that benefits everyone involved. We thank him for his performances last season, as his goals and assists were essential in ensuring our survival. We wish him all the best for the future,” said FCA’s managing director for sport, Stefan Reuter.
Mergim Berisha joined FC Augsburg on loan in the summer of 2022 from Fenerbahce. The Berchtesgarden-born forward scored nine goals and registered a further four assists in 23 Bundesliga games. He is only the fourth FCA player to play an international game for Germany whilst at the club. Ahead of this season, FC Augsburg had an option to buy the striker, and signed Berisha. Now, he has moved to Hoffenheim.
