The winners of the 2023 Dream Trip were treated to a packed programme in Wolfsburg, filled with everything they could possibly wish for. Last weekend, the Wolves welcomed Sam Hargett (winner of a USA-wide campaign with Jake Barford and ESPN), Casey Bednarczyk (winner of a regional campaign with the Chicago Red Stars and Arielle Chambers) and fiancée Melissa Korniejczuk, and 14-year-old Evelin Juarez Ramirez (who took part in the StrongHER campaign) with guardian Katelyn Newsome. Influencers Jake Barford and Arielle Chambers also made the trip, along with Rachel C. Parrish, who is head of marketing for the Chicago Red Stars.

VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt rounded off Bundesliga Matchday 23 with a 2-2 draw on Sunday evening. In a turbulent first half, Omar Marmoush gave VfL an early lead after 10 minutes before goals from Randal Kolo Muani (22´) and Evan Ndicka (26´) put Eintracht´s noses in front. However, Yannick Gerhardt netted a deserved equaliser two minutes before half-time as the Wolves slipped to eighth in the table.

Both 1. FC Köln and VfL Wolfsburg go into tomorrow’s meeting (Saturday 25 February, 15:30 CET) on the back of defeats. Winless run ended

VfL Wolfsburg picked up a long-awaited three points on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 victory at Köln, registering their first win in the second half of the Bundesliga season. Yannick Gerhardt fired the Green-and-Whites in front in just the fourth minute. In a game of few clear-cut opportunities, VfL kept it tight at the back while continuing to ask questions in attack. Eventually it was Maximilian Arnold’s 68th-minute penalty which sealed the Wolves’ first win in six games in all competitions. Niko Kovac’s side can follow that up next Sunday, 5 March, when they host Eintracht Frankfurt at the Volkswagen Arena (kick-off 17:30 CET).

The German Football League (DFL) confirmed the schedule for Bundesliga Matchdays 26 to 29 on Friday morning. The Wolves host FC Augsburg on Saturday 1 April at 15:30 CEST, before two Sunday fixtures away to Gladbach (15:30 CEST) and at home to Leverkusen (19:30 CEST). On Matchday 29, the Green-and-Whites play the away match at VfL Bochum at the traditional time of 15:30 CEST on Saturday 22 April.
