Union members have one last chance to buy tickets for the home matches in the group phase on the ticket re-sale market. In addition, there is the possibility to make tickets available there in case a visit to the stadium is not possible.
In the summer of 2020, FSV Babelsberg 74 returned to the Regionalliga after a three-year absence. However the team from Potsdam were immediately relegated. In each of the following two seasons, the green-and-whites finished first in the Landesliga. But in 2017/18 they voluntarily refrained from playing in the play-offs, before the NOFV then denied them promotion in 2018/19 due to a lack of youth development.
In preparation for the current season, the 1.85m tall right-footer travelled to the summer training camp in Austria together with the rest of the first-team squad, completing the entire Bundesliga pre-season programme.
“Of course I’m very happy that the club have put their trust in me and are continuing to keep me in their plans,” said Kemlein on the signing of his contract. “I’m looking forward to this challenge, and will give everything to be successful here.”
“Aljoscha has often shown his qualities in his time here at the club so far and we are convinced that his development is far from over. We are therefore very pleased that he sees his future at 1. FC Union Berlin,” said Oliver Ruhnert, Union’s director of professional football.
After his return from Belgium, van Drongelen completed the entire pre-season with the Union. In Bad Saarow as well as in Neukirchen am Großvenediger, the Dutchman was an ever present and was able to rack up valuable time on the pitch of play in the warm-up matches. The loan deal should provide van Drongelen with much more match practice this season.
Union had shaken themselves down and dusted themselves off, and they would be buoyed by the impossible news.
Goals: 1-0 Becker (13), 1-1 Kimmich (15),
“Because of the amount of away games we have in the coming weeks, it’s good to be able to play at home”, said Oliver Ruhnert, Union’s Director of Professional Football on the draw. “We know Heidenheim well, they’ve had the same trainer for a long time, and are a top team in the second division. They’re a good opponent, and we’ll have to be very focussed.”
