U23s to host Zwickau in Oberhausen

The Black & Yellow U23s face their next bout in the fight for survival in the 3. Liga this weekend. The match against Zwickau will be the next opportunity for the young Borussia side to pick up points they so desperately need: “That’s the benefit of an English week – you don’t have too much time to brood over things, you just have to look ahead right away and so now our focus turns to getting a win on Sunday and improving our position in the standings. We’re still in with a shot, but we need to start picking up points,” said coach Jan Zimmermann.

VfL Wolfsburg

“The Leverkusen match is coming at the right time”

There is a big day ahead for VfL Wolfsburg. In the morning, the German league title will be on the line in Bielefeld, with the Green-and-Whites’ B Junior Team playing in the final for the first ever time (kick-off: 11:00 CEST). The only member of the current first-team squad to have lifted that particular trophy is Yannick Gerhardt, who tasted victory back in 2011 with 1. FC Köln. In this interview, the VfL midfielder cast his mind back over a decade to that final before looking ahead to his own match that evening against Bayer Leverkusen at the Volkswagen Arena.

VfL Wolfsburg

End of an era

A significant chapter in VfL’s history will come to a close at the end of the current season. Josuha Guilavogui, who for a number of years has been one of VfL Wolfsburg’s key players, influential figures and club captain, will leave the Green-and-Whites for an as yet unknown destination.
