FC Barcelona to play outside of Europe if they get kicked out of La Liga and UEFA competitions?

One option, according to the Catalan TV show, would be to play friendlies and another would be to try to feature in a competition as a guest club, something that could bring Barcelona good profit. The club could consider participating in an Asian league.

Baumann and Beier called up for EURO squad

Great joy at TSG: Goalkeeper Oliver Baumann and forward Maximilian Beier have been included in the EURO squad by national team coach Julian Nagelsmann. It is a great honour for both players, who have yet to make their debut in a DFB shirt. “I’m hugely delighted to be involved. It’s a dream to be represented at the EURO in your own country,” said Oliver Baumann. “I’ve worked for a long time to be part of the national team squad. This call-up is therefore definitely a highlight.” Maximilian Beier, who at 21 years of age is the third-youngest player in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad, said: “I’m very proud and very happy that I’ve been called up. It’s definitely the greatest thing that has happened in my career to date.” It will be the first international tournament for both TSG players.

Five VfB players named in Germany squad

Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann announced his 27-man provisional squad for EURO 2024 in Berlin on Thursday....

1. FC Union Berlin

Union Host Darmstadt

A win would be a hugely important statement for two teams caught up in a relegation battle. With 18 games played Darmstadt join 1. FC Köln and 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the bottom three. They all have 11 points, with the Lilies only bottom on goal difference. There are some green shoots of improvement though. Last Saturday, in the Hesse derby against Eintracht Frankfurt, Julian Justvan was particularly impressive. Only recently signed, scored their first in a 2-2 draw, secured in the last minute of stoppage time with a goal from Christoph Klarer.

Day of Persons with Disabilities: Foundation promotes equal participation

“We create participation on equal terms” – this is one of the guiding principles that the foundation uses to organise the content of its own work. It also supports projects that focus on inclusion. Examples of this include the cooperation with the Sit’n’Skate project and the close collaboration with the Special Olympics NRW that has been in place for several years – in order to also make it possible for children with disabilities to be a mascot at a BVB home game.

Uli’s Choice: One of Oliver Kahn, Hasan Salihamidzic could be dismissed by Bayern Munich this summer

It’s been reported that Kahn’s job (CEO) is significantly more at risk than that of Salihamidzic’s (sporting director), but nothing will be decided until on, or after, the meeting at the end of the month following the conclusion of the season. Whether or not Bayern lift the Meisterschale will have little to do with the decisions they wind up making, as only winning the Bundesliga title would still be considered to be a below par season for FC Bayern.

A win to make history – Frankfurt trying to hold onto sixth

The match preview for the Bundesliga game between Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig

1. FC Union Berlin

Union Travel to Bayern

The away game in Munich is undoubtedly one of the most difficult tasks of the Bundesliga season. In the four previous meetings in the Bavarian capital, Union have lost three times – only in April 2021 were the Berliners able to secure a 1-1 draw thanks to a late equaliser from Marcus Ingvartsen. The record champions are also in good form this year, having lost only twice in 17 games, the 5-1 reverse at Eintracht Frankfurt and last Sunday when, n front of a home crowd, coach Thomas Tuchel’s team conceded a 1-0 defeat to SV Werder Bremen. It was a historic victory for Bremen, who have not won away from FCB for almost 16 years. The loss leaves Bayern in second place in the table, seven points behind Leverkusen.

Nick Cherny seals 1-0 win for the U17s

The team paid a high price for the victory, however. Because Ousmane Diallo, who is increasingly settling into his stride, got his boot stuck in the turf in the 42nd minute and went off with an injury. Up until that point, BVB had dominated the game with a high share of the possession, forced RWO onto the defensive and not given away a chance to the opposition. At the other end, the Black & Yellows squandered several chances and only found the net once: Ousmane Diallo broke through down the flank and passed to Fritz Fleck, who provided the assist for Nick Cherny to put his team into a highly deserved 1-0 lead in the 39th minute. Justin Hoy also struck the post following a lovely move involving Fritz Fleck and Nick Cherny.
