An interview with RB Leipzig’s striker | His ambitions and objectives with Slovenia for the Euro 2024
The Swiss drew 1-1 with Scotland on Wednesday night, with VfB defender Leonidas Stergiou featuring in the closing stages.
After finishing the 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign in ninth place, SV Werder Bremen narrowly missed out on a spot in Europe. In a season packed with soaring highs and crushing lows, there was no shortage of emotional moments for the Green-Whites and their supporters. With the campaign now firmly behind us, the fourth and final part of our season review takes a look back at some of 23/24’s most memorable matches.
Recently it was revealed through the player’s management that Tel plans to stay in Munich next year rather than go on loan to develop. He’ll get his chance to start building his case for a larger role with the remaining league games of this season, as the German club have declined to release him for France youth international duty for the U-20 World Cup (via @iMiaSanMia).
“In the fight to stay in the Bundesliga, we need to draw on the strength of the entire club and, of course, that of our squad. We trust Marco Grote and his team to lead our players back to their highest levels of performance to make the remaining games until the end of the season a success,” explained Union President Dirk Zingler on the decision. “I would like to thank Nenad Bjelica and his team for the work they have done. They have succeeded in stabilising the team in an extremely difficult situation, with the result that we have the power to stay in the league on our own.”
SV Werder Bremen have made another addition to their squad for the upcoming season. After spending three years gaining valuable experience at second-division side Schalke 04, Keke Topp has put pen to paper on a deal with his former club ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. Werder’s managing director for sport Clemens Fritz announced the decision to sign the forward on Tuesday afternoon.
With just three games left in the Bundesliga schedule, they are all important, even if Bayern Munich should be able to smash this Schalke 04 side. Let’s take a look at what we have on tap for this episode:
RB Leipzig’s full-back interviewed | On his ambitions and goals with Germany in the UEFA Euro 2024
Magdeburg are currently sat in 8th place in the table with 23 points from 18 games and will therefore remain in the Regionalliga Nordost next season. For the Elbe city side, therefore, all focus is on finishing this season as high as possible, as 5th place, currently occupied by RB Leipzig II, still seems attainable with a gap of just three points. Two weeks ago, Magdeburg beat Bischofswerdaer FV 3-0 to continue the good form they have shown in the second half of the season that has seen them take13 points from seven games.
