Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): “We’re angry and disappointed that we dropped two points. The clear plan was to take six points from the final two matches. We must not lose sight of our minimum objective, reaching the Champions League. Our record in the Bundesliga in recent weeks has not been good. We have a different standard. The team threw themselves into it today. We did not finish off our chances with enough precision.”
Fightback: Borussia have taken points from a losing position for the sixth time in this Bundesliga season (three wins, three draws); that’s the joint-most along with FC Augsburg.
Sport lives off emotion. But where enthusiasm turns into criminal hatred, clear limits must be set. Top athletes are regularly in the media spotlight and are particularly at risk. Even on social media, everyone still has to comply with the rules of social interactions. Anyone who breaks these rules must expect to face the consequences. The DFL clubs in the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga from North Rhine-Westphalia and the ZAC NRW have therefore agreed to work together to tackle criminal hatred in the project “Wer hetzt, verliert!”. If players, managers or directors of a club are attacked in the digital world, these facts can be reported to ZAC NRW in a timely manner without red tape as part of the project work. The aim is the consistent prosecution of criminal hateful comments.

Coach Edin Terzic and his players will travel to Marbella, as they did last year, between 3 and 9 January 2024. Two friendlies are set to take place. Some of the training sessions will be open to fans. Information on the dates will follow in due course.
There has been plenty of positive news from the U23 camp over the course of recent days: in their last home game against 1860 Munich, Jan Zimmermann’s team equalled the best-ever start of a Black & Yellow U23 team set in the 2021/22 promotion season, while Julian Hettwer took his scorer point total to 12 in Ulm (it was seven in the entirety of last season) and Marcel Lotka will return between the BVB sticks this weekend after serving his suspension.
BVB have failed to win in their last two matches in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League, but coach Edin Terzic praised his team’s performance in both games. In the defeat against Leipzig, the Black and Yellows put up a good fight despite playing with ten men for much of the game and almost found an equaliser. In the draw against PSG, BVB secured top spot in Group F ahead of the French champions. “It is our clear mission that we will take a lot of good things not only from the match against Leipzig, but also from the match against Paris, and that we now want to incorporate them into the next two important games in the Bundesliga. We have shown what we are capable of,” said Terzic. “We want to top that performance level once again. If we succeed, we are very confident that we will pick up points in the coming games.”
It is tradition not only to celebrate goals in Dortmund, but also to cheer when there are special challenges or interventions. Niklas Süle’s block in the 18th minute had the fans up out of their seats and will go down as one of the most spectacular interventions in the club’s history.
Club members can purchase up to two tickets via the BVB Ticket Shop. All buyers will receive print@home tickets with their purchase.
