Well, Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg is here with a rebuttal that indicates that Pavard still could leave the club.

Justvan: “Heidenheim will be a tough task”

Julian, many congratulations on making your Bundesliga debut. What impressions have you taken away from the game against SC Freiburg?

VfB Stuttgart

“In for a tough task”

Sebastian Hoeneß looks ahead to the first away league match of the season against RB Leipzig on Friday at 20:30 CEST. His side will be backed by 2,500 visiting fans at the Red Bull Arena.

1. FC Union Berlin

Union head to Czech champions Slavia Prague

Union added another point to the tally for the season at home to Augsburg and maintained the unbeaten start to the Bundesliga campaign. Urs Fischer’s side created opportunities to take maximum points with three strikes against the woodwork, while Rafal Gikiewicz was in fine form against his former club. In the early stages, Niko Gießelmann headed straight at the Augsburg goalkeeper and clipped the post with a powerful long-range strike. While Union’s former promotion-winning goalkeeper was impressive at one end, the Köpenick club had Andreas Luthe to thank at the other side. Luthe was named in the Team of the Week for the Bundesliga this weekend after making a string of important stops. Luthe’s most impressive intervention was an incredible reflex save to stop Sergio Cordova from sending Augsburg into the lead. Marvin Friedrich headed off the crossbar in the second half as Union piled on the pressure while Andreas Voglsammer was denied by Gikiewicz and struck himself off the woodwork.

Brighton in the Champions League? Wild Week 1 overreactions

I got four or five of them right. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich didn’t end up the best teams in Europe, but Erling Haaland did score 50 goals, Newcastle United did finish top-six, Union Berlin did reach the Champions League, Fulham did stay up, and AS Monaco nearly won the watchability race.

The fans behind the designs: Portrait of André

“There is no city where sport is so rooted. I have the feeling: Dortmund is BVB. This enthusiasm and identification are madness for me,” says the North German, who wanted to combine tradition and modernity in his design: “With the drawing, which is reminiscent of a coal dash, I have immortalised the heart of the Ruhr region on the jersey.” Find out what motivated him to take part in the competition in the video.

Match awards from Bayern Munich’s phenomenal 5-3 win against FC Augsburg

That aside, here are our awards from this fantastic, enjoyable game.

SC Freiburg

“Sharpness and hunger are crucial”

The upcoming opponents, Bremen, did not have such a good start to the season. Werder lost their opening game of the 60th Bundesliga season 4-0 to FC Bayern and went out in the opening round of the DFB-Pokal. However, the Green-Whites are optimistic about their first away game: “We know that it will be difficult in Freiburg because they have a very flexible squad,” emphasised Marvin Ducksch. “But, if we play our best football, we will have an even game.”

Memorial trip to Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp

The former Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp is located in the town of Natzweiler in Alsace, approximately 60 kilometres from Strasbourg. People suffered under unimaginable conditions there. It is our duty to listen to their stories, preserve their memories and learn from the past. One of the most important satellite camps of the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp is the former satellite camp in Mosbach-Neckarelz.
