As at every Bundesliga home game, the TSG Hoffenheim players were accompanied by young mascots as they came out onto the pitch for the game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen, which ended in a 4-1 defeat. But for one TSG Hoffenheim player, these were very special mascots. All of the kids came from his foundation “Olis Kinderwelt”.
“Olis Kinderwelt” supports children and families who lack financial resources or who are in urgent need of support. This is the motivation behind the foundation’s daily commitment to children and their families. The team works as part of a strong network to achieve this goal.
From a sporting point of view, the game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen was also a special one for the TSG Hoffenheim goalkeeper. The 34-year-old made his 464th Bundesliga appearance, placing him alongside legends Lothar Matthäus and Toni Schumacher. Baumann is now ranked 22nd in the all-time list of players with the most Bundesliga appearances.
