MATTHÄI has been involved with SVW since 2019 – initially, the Verden-based firm was a TEAM11 partner, sponsor and sleeve partner of the Werder Football School and the club’s official CSR partner. MATTHÄI has since supported a number of the club’s social projects and activities. In 2022, the company became a TOP partner and SPIELRAUM designer in Verden, working with the Green-Whites to provide sporting opportunities to youngsters from all backgrounds. MATTHÄI has been Werder’s primary sponsor since 2023.

Katharina Breves, speaking on behalf of the MATTHÄI management board, sees the early extension of the contract as an positive sign: “We are delighted not only to have gained brand visibility with Werder Bremen, but also to have established a strong partnership for a wide range of projects. It is for that reason that we were eager to extend the contract early.” Breves is also very positive about the progress made during MATTHÄI’s first season as SVW’s primary sponsor. “It is remarkable how much our shared values and social aims shine through in this partnership. We have built a solid foundation for the future in a short space of time,” added Breves.

“We have enjoyed a very trusting partnership with MATTHÄI for a while now. As a local company, having them as our main and shirt sponsor is a perfect fit for Werder. That’s why I’m so happy that we’ve already agreed a long-term extension to our deal,” said Klaus Filbry, the club’s CEO. “MATTHÄI and Werder share the same core values of supporting our region, working sustainably and taking responsibility for our employees. In addition, at a time when there is a shortage of skilled labour and employee retention is increasingly important, MATTHÄI has broken new ground, and their sponsorship contributes brilliantly to achieving those goals.”

The partnership between Werder and MATTHÄI was made possible by the club’s marketing partner, Infront. Marco Sautner, managing director at Infront Germany, said of the deal: “The early extension of MATTHÄI’s contract is a strong commitment by the company to SV Werder Bremen and highlights the mutual trust and successful partnership between both parties. The partnership is a prime example of a successful and sustainable sponsorship strategy which is beneficial for both sides and further advances the club’s development.
