Moises Caicedo’s agent namechecked Arsenal as he spoke out on the future of his client amid swathes of transfer interest from top Premier League clubs.
The Gunners failed with several bids for the Brighton star in January, peaking at £70m, before Caicedo agreed a new deal at the Amex.
Despite that, a report on Thursday claimed ‘Brighton will consider allowing Caicedo to leave the club this summer if their valuation of the player is met’.
The Seagulls will be ‘ready to have a conversation’ if they receive an £80m bid, even though he recently penned a new contract that runs until 2027.
adds: ‘The interest in Caicedo has not dissipated and Arsenal are still very interested in taking him to north London. West Ham’s Declan Rice is a player the Gunners like a lot, but 90min understands that Caicedo remains an option as well.
‘Liverpool and Manchester United are also confirmed admirers of Caicedo and retain an interest, while it is believed Manchester City have him on a list of potential backups to top target Jude Bellingham, who is likely to join Real Madrid instead this summer.’
Caicedo’s agent, Manuel Sierra, is well aware of the widespread interest in his client and namechecked Arsenal before confirming no negotiations would take place until the end of the season.
Sierra has told Arsenalinformer: “Arsenal is a great team for everyone; let’s see what happens in the summer, there are many clubs keen on Moises. Moises has four years left on his contract.
“He’s having an incredible season, so it’s normal that there are many clubs interested in him. Now he’s completely focused on the last part of the season; all evaluations will be postponed until the summer.
“This is not a surprise because there aren’t many other midfielders so young and talented around Europe. I believe he can really improve in every aspect of the game.
“He can slot into any [team] as he is ready for it all. His dream is to play in the Champions League and to reach as far as he can in football.”
Gary Neville has hit out at three Chelsea players for their role in Crystal Palace’s only goal of the game as the Blues won 3-1 on Monday night.
That Chelsea performance alone was a sackable offence for Mauricio Pochettino, who’s staring down the barrel at Stamford Bridge, where Moises Caicedo is perhaps the greatest example of his failings.
Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson insists his “cleaner would do a better job” than Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag this season.
Ally McCoist believes Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has been the worst signing of the season, not Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund or Andre Onana.
