The German Football League (DFL) has precisely scheduled the first eight matchdays of the 2023/24 Bundesliga season. Borussia Dortmund will start the new season with a home game against 1. FC Cologne on Saturday 19 August. Kick-off at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK will be in the top match slot at 18:30 CET.

BVB will play their first away match of the new season a week later: the Black & Yellows will pay a visit to VfL Bochum on Saturday 26 August at 15:30 CET. The first of Borussia’s three Friday fixtures in the opening eight rounds of matches will be against promoted Heidenheim on 1 September (kick-off 20:30 CET). BVB will also be involved in the opening match of the round on a Friday when they visit Hoffenheim (29/09) and host Bremen (20/10). The Black & Yellows’ other already scheduled games will be on a Saturday. (cr)
