Emil Forsberg
- “I’m a bit annoyed because I would’ve liked to win today. We were in control, but Bremen counterattacked well. It’s also hard to come here and win. We didn’t really take our chances today, but 33 points is a good amount to be on after the first half of the season.
I didn’t really think about it being my last game. I just wanted to win and to get three points before the winter break. We’re going to fly back to Leipzig now and we’ll see if anything else happens this evening. Then, we fly to Sweden, before we head to New York in the middle of January.”
Benjamin Henrichs
- “We didn’t take our chances well today and our final ball wasn’t good enough. At the end of the day, we’ve got to take the draw, even though we wanted more.
If we didn’t concede, we wouldn’t be talking about a lack of freshness. We’ve just got to be better defensively. We didn’t really give them much of a sniff.
Going out of the DFB-Pokal aside, it’s been a good first half of the season. We got to the round of 16 in the Champions League and we’ve picked up 33 points in the league. When you look at Leverkusen, however, you realise what’s possible. We’ve got to keep at it.
People are still praising Emil today and he deserves it. He’s been a great servant not just for Leipzig, but for the Bundesliga as a whole. It’s a real shame that he’s leaving, but I’m happy for him.“
Lois Openda
- “We wanted to win today but unfortunately we didn’t. It’s not a nice feeling. We had enough chances but didn’t manage to score a second goal. It goes without saying that we wanted to get three points in Emil’s last game, but we’ll still celebrate with him tonight and enjoy the time we have left with him.
I think we’ve had a good first half of the season. I always try to score or assist goals, but I want to be even better in the second half of the campaign.
We’re going to play Real Madrid in the Champions League, who are one of the best teams in the world. That being said, we showed what we can do against Manchester City. We believe in ourselves.“
