VfB Stuttgart will take part in a pre-season tournament on Saturday 29 July at the Sportpark...
Union’s dominant second half performance in Leverkusen left Urs Fischer’s side frustrated at not taking all three points from the BayArena. Patrick Schick made it 18 for the season with a first-half opener as Leverkusen bossed proceedings. Gerardo Seoane’s side, fourth in the table pre-match, passed up opportunities before Grischa Prömel bundled in the equaliser near half-time. The midfielder followed up on two excellent stops from Finnish goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky to give Union a lifeline. Fischer made two changes at the break with Levin Öztunali and Andreas Voglsammer entering the game — and Union turned on the style. Prömel put Union ahead but the Köpenick club failed to turn their opportunities in the second 45 into a more convincing lead. Max Kruse hit the crossbar and Voglsammer forced more work out of Hradecky. Jonathan Tah equalised with six minutes to go, but Union had more chances to put the game beyond doubt. In stoppage time, Bastian Oczipka struck off the post as Union had to be content with one point instead of three.
Club members can purchase up two tickets via the BVB Ticket Shop.
Normally, Milos Veljkovic joins the summer pre-season slightly later. Since the 27-year-old has been playing for SV Werder, he has been on regular international duty with Serbia after the end of the season, making up for his holiday later. Due to calf problems, Veljkovic was ruled out for the international matches in June this year. “I was able to switch off and recover well during this time,” said the centre-back about his time off. “So I’m even more pleased that it’s starting again now.”
When Leroy Sané made the move from Manchester City to Bayern Munich, he was hailed as the wing savior for the German club.
The new kit will be worn for the first time on Saturday, 15th July, when SCF are set to take on Grasshopper Club Zurich at the Europa-Park Stadion (16:00 CEST). The match will consist of the orthodox 2×45 minute halves. Although Freiburg won’t have a full squad at their disposal due to the absence of the international players, the match will be a dress rehearsal for the Swiss Super League side, who are set to get their domestic campaign underway on 22nd July. Former SCF player, Amir Abrashi, who now wears the armband for Grasshoppers, will make his return to Freiburg.
Our new kit is here! Hertha BSC will play the 2023/24 season in a home shirt which symbolizes the sparks between the club, its fans and the city of Berlin. It consists of the classic blue and white vertical stripes, with our flag on the chest and the Nike Swoosh in the colour of our city. The font for player names and numbers on the back of the shirt will be black, whilst the kit is rounded off with white shorts and socks, with blue kit numbers and stripes respectively.
Pole vaulter Sarah Vogel drew the teams for the first round of the cup – and handed TSG Hoffenheim an away tie in Schleswig-Holstein. TSG will visit Stadion an der Lohmühle to face VfB Lübeck in their first competitive match of the 2023/24 campaign. The club finished top of the Regionalliga Nord last season and gained promotion to the 3. Liga in the process. The ties in the first round of the DFB-Pokal will take place between 11 and 14 August, with a precise date and kick-off time to follow in the course of the coming weeks. The Bundesliga season will begin a week after the DFB-Pokal (18-20 August).
“We are really happy with Tymoteusz’s mentality. We want to give him the loan option to get some minutes for the next half year, which we can’t guarantee that. We consider Trabzonspor a very good loan partner because they have a high quality squad and are playing a very good season. More match practice will definitely help him in his development before he returns to us from 01 July,” said Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin’s Managing Director for Professional Football.
