The stadium certainly played a major role in the win on Saturday. Maybe it’s because my final MBBS exams start from next week, but the way Bayern Munich were set up to dispatch Paris Saint-Germain and secure progression to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League reminded me of a perfectly functioning organism.

We couldn’t start pre-season with our full squad due to some players being on international duty. Players arrived at different times, which is why we called up quite a lot of lads from the U23s in order to be able to play 11-a-side games in training.
