SV Werder Bremen

Bringing a deserved point back to Bremen

The clash between SV Werder Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday evening ended level with a 2-2 draw under the floodlights at BORUSSIA-PARK. The Green-Whites got off to a flying start thanks to an opener from Rafael Borré (7’), and held onto their lead until just after the break, when Rocco Reitz’s brace seemingly shattered the visitors’ hopes of three points (45’, 49’). However, Marvin Ducksch had other ideas, as the Germany international secured the equaliser for Werder in the 76th minute and rewarded the Green-Whites for their strong performance.

Looking to “continue good run of form” against Köln

The overall head-to-head record is also in favour of Sport-Club, having won 21 out of 44 games in all competitions (D8, L15).

TSG Hoffenheim

Akpoguma: “An unnecessary defeat”

Oliver Baumann: “I think we were in control and were defensively solid – apart from the goals we conceded. That was a step forward against a good attack, because it was actually a good game and therefore an unnecessary defeat. Nonetheless, we still need to work on the details. It can’t be that Ngoumou has so much space in front of goal. We have to concede fewer goals. Today is an unlucky defeat. We have to stay on our path, then I’m positive about the future.”

SV Werder Bremen

“Ultimately a deserved and fair result”

The general consensus among the Green-Whites following Friday night’s away clash against Mönchengladbach was that they “could’ve come away from the game with more.” Nevertheless, as they were forced to make a comeback after giving away their lead, SV Werder are certainly appreciative of the point they picked up at BORUSSIA-PARK.
