Freiburg are returning to Bundesliga action with three games in seven days. After their trip to Wolfsburg (Saturday, 21st January, 15:30 CET), they will host Eintracht Frankfurt (Wednesday, 25th January, 20:30 CET), and FC Augsburg (Saturday, 28th January, 15:30 CET). The final game of the three will also mark the start of the second half of the Bundesliga season.

Christian Streich summarised the game from a Freiburg perspective now some time had passed in his press conference on Tuesday: “We were often just slightly too late. Wednesday’s draw saw Freiburg demonstrate the typical that have been evident in the majority of their games this season – strong in duels, courageous and willing to attack. The clash against the defending Europa League champions also showed something else, however, which head coach Streich mentioned at Friday’s press conference. “The team did really well against Frankfurt, but it was only enough to get a draw. That shows you what kind of demands we’re under.”
