BVB youngsters reach EURO finals

The DFB team might have suffered a highly unfortunate 4-3 defeat against Spain in the final group game courtesy of a last-minute own goal, but they reached the final tournament as one of the best runners-up. As they had done in the 7-0 win over Finland – when they scored six of the seven goals – the Dortmund lads stood out again against Spain: Paris Brunner restored parity for the DFB youngsters on two occasions, while Almugera Kabar put them 3-2 ahead at one point. Brunner, Herrmann and Kabar were all included in DFB coach Christian Wück’s starting line-up, while Kjell Wätjen came off the bench in the 46th minute. Luke Rahman was an unused substitute.
