Werder mount double comeback
SV Werder Bremen got off to a bad start in their first of two friendlies against RC Strasbourg, conceding twice through goals from Lucas Perrin (6’) and Marvin Senaya (18’). Things were looking better for Werder about 20 minutes later after goals from Oliver Burke (28’) and Nick Woltemade (34’) brought Werder level. Unfortunately, shortly before the break, Lebo Mothiba scored Strasbourg’s third regain the lead (45’). On the whole, the second half was quieter than the first, with Justin Njinmah’s pace making the difference on a number of occasions. One resulted in a penalty in the 71st minute that he converted himself to make it 3-3, which ended up being the final score.
