Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is reportedly set to appoint Chris Jurasek as the club’s new chief executive, raising doubts over Tom Glick’s role.

Boehly’s first full season in charge of the club has been a disaster with Chelsea set for their lowest Premier League finish since the 1995-96 season.

The Blues are currently 11th in the Premier League table, six points adrift of 10th-placed Fulham with four matches remaining this term.

Chelsea have spent close to £600m on new signings over the past two transfer windows, while they are currently on their third manager this campaign.

Graham Potter replaced Thomas Tuchel in September with the former Brighton boss failing to gel their numerous new signings into a winning unit.

Potter was then sacked in early April with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard – who has won one of his seven matches in charge – taking over as caretaker boss until the end of the season.

And now The Times claim that the owners at Chelsea ‘are looking to ease the crisis at Stamford Bridge by recruiting a new chief executive from within their own business empire’.

That ‘will raise questions’ over Glick’s role as president of business who ‘was brought in to grow Chelsea’s commercial business and use his experience working for City’s owners to develop a multi-club model.’

Chelsea are now ‘in final talks’ with Clearlake Capital operating executive Jurasek with Glick expected to ‘report to Jurasek’ moving forward.

But a report in Brazil has brought more potential bad news for Chelsea with Globo Extra claiming that Thiago Silva ‘would give up his last year in Europe to return’ to Fluminense.

Silva has become a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge and by warning them not to “make the same mistakes” next season.

He said: “We can’t be blaming the managers if we don’t take responsibility. It’s a hard period for the club, with a lot of indecision.

“Change of ownership, new players arriving – we had to increase the size of the changing room because it didn’t fit the size of the squad.”

It is understood that he is ‘willing to give up his last season in the Premier League to end his career at Fluminense’ and that he ‘has already been decided to return to Brazil’.
