Referee: Benjamin Brand in charge

As he was in the first round away to TSV Schott Mainz, the 34-year-old business economist from Gerolzhofen will be in charge of a DFB-Pokal tie involving BVB. Thomas Stein and Dr. Martin Thomsen will assist on the sidelines, with Timo Gerach the fourth official and Tobias Welz on VAR duty. BVB’s record under Benjamin Brand’s leadership: there have been three wins in three DFB-Pokal ties (all first round), plus four wins and a draw in the league.
