Borussia Dortmund will be without midfielder Felix Nmecha until the end of the year. The reason for the absence is a hip injury suffered by the 23-year-old.
Coach Edin Terzic said the following of his player’s absence at the press conference on Thursday lunchtime: “Felix already had to withdraw from international duty due to a hip injury. It unfortunately hasn’t improved in the last few days, so we’ve now decided to give everything some time to recover. The injury is located in an awkward place where little can be done with therapy, which means that he needs a break. Felix will therefore not play again this calendar year.”
Addressing Nmecha’s possible return, Terzic said: “We assume that we will be able to build him up again and integrate him into team training at the beginning of January.” BVB face Borussia Mönchengladbach at home on Saturday. The Black & Yellows then have important matches in the league, Champions League and DFB-Pokal on the agenda before Christmas.
