Man Utd are open to selling Anthony Martial this summer with Erik ten Hag interested in reuniting with Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus, according to reports.
The French forward joined the Premier League club from AS Monaco in 2015 – the same year he was named Golden Boy.
The 27-year-old hit the ground running at Old Trafford, scoring that goal against Liverpool that got Martin Tyler quite excited, before netting a crucial brace in a 3-2 win at Southampton.
However, over the course of his time at the club, Martial has not lived up to his reported €60million transfer fee.
He has been sidelined more often than not this term with injuries taking their toll on the former Monaco youngster.
When fit, Martial has been a handy player to have and showed glimpses of what he can produce in Thursday’s Europa League draw at home to Sevilla – who the striker spent the second half of last season on loan with.
Having said that, his fitness has been a huge problem this season and it is obvious he cannot be United’s long-term solution in the No. 9 position.
Ten Hag is expected to sign a new striker in the summer following Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit last November.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani and Tottenham’s Harry Kane are among those being linked with a move to Old Trafford.
You would expect Martial to stay to provide cover up top; however, it has been reported by Manchester Evening News that he could be sold this summer.
As well as Martial, it is believed that Man Utd have deemed club captain Harry Maguire is surplus to requirements.
The French international has only managed 18 appearances across all competitions this term.
While Ten Hag seeks a long-term solution to lead the line, it has been reported once again that he wants to bring in Ajax forward Kudus.
He has been excellent this term, scoring 18 goals and providing five assists in 38 games across all competitions.
Having previously worked with Kudus, Ten Hag is keen to sign the Ghanian international, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Kudus is one of many forwards on the Dutch manager’s summer wishlist.
Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo scored their first Premier League goals against Big Six opposition in the space of a few days for Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag dismissed suggestions that Man Utd will miss their ‘main man’ while Rasmus Hojlund is injured while discussing why the club opted not to sign another striker…
According to reports, Manchester United flop Anthony Martial will be ‘offered the chance to return home’ during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The agent of Manchester United star Anthony Martial has responded to reports suggesting he has been made to train on his own because ‘he’s not fit enough’.
Agbonlahor thinks Manchester United boss Ten Hag may have exiled Martial because the Frenchman “doesn’t want to leave” the club this month.
The Manchester United star hasn’t played since December 9 and is still training away from the first team, with his absence now ‘raising eyebrows’ at Carrington.
