The RB Leipzig Open!
Kevin Kampl on…
…the past few results
- “Obviously, we didn’t want to start the second half of the season this way. Both losses annoyed us. Now, we have to turn this anger into something positive. We’re playing the side directly above us in the table on Saturday and can leapfrog them if we win. That’s what we need to focus on.”
We did a lot of things well against Frankfurt and Leverkusen. We’ve also looked at areas where we can improve, especially defending set-pieces and converting our chances. Of course, we’ve noticed it but we’re not letting it rattle us too much.”
…VfB Stuttgart
- “We’re travelling to Stuttgart with confidence. We’re expecting to come up against a side who are creative and who play with pace. They carve out a lot of chances for themselves and fine-tuned their philosophy over the course of the first half of the season.
I think they play in a similar way to Bayer Leverkusen. They like to keep things tight, play short passes and don’t give you much room for manoeuvre. We’ll draw up a gameplan to deal with this challenge and hopefully take three points back to Leipzig.”
…Willi Orban’s comeback
- “He’s our captain, so of course we’re happy that he’s back in training. Willi’s presence on and off the pitch is incredibly important for us. He’s also got a smile on his face again.
When you’re not out there on the pitch and just spending your time in the gym or with the fitness coaches, it can be quite straining mentally. We’re definitely going to make the most of the positive energy he’ll bring when he’s back on the pitch.”
