“You can do anything”
This slogan is not only a guiding principle of RB Leipzig, but also the motto of the RBL’s training camps that are taking place in the United States of America for the second time.
Following the success of the camps which took place in Brooklyn and Hoboken last year,RB Leipzig are back in the New York region in 2023.
RB Leipzig’s soccer camps for youngsters are taking place from 17th July for two weeks. The first is being staged at the training complex of the New York Red Bulls in New jersey, then it’s on to the Sinatra Field in Hoboken. The camps are designed to offer children a unique chance to train with professional coaches of a Champions League participant.
RB Leipzig in the NYC region
The main part of programme is based around training sessions, which take place from 09:00-15:00 every day. Seven coaches from RBL are there to engage with the more than 200 participants and the goal is to teach the youngsters about different aspects of the game.
Each daily session is tailored towards a player of the current RBL squad (including Dani Olmo and Timo Werner). The training consists of different exercises such as dribbling, positional play, shooting and teamwork.
RB Leipzig Soccer Camps
In addition, a training camp for advanced players was held in Hoboken. The aim was to give the participants a taste of the high training standards of European football. It was also an opportunity for the coaches to observe the talented youngsters close-up.
Bulli in the Big Apple and awards for MVPs
There’s also plenty of activities to get stuck into away from the pitch. RBL’s mascot “Bulli” is in the thick of the action and there’s a visit from Tom Barlow of the New York Red Bulls. There’s also a performance by a freestyle crew and an awards ceremony for the best players.
The two MVP’s of the camps will travel to Leipzig for the home game against FC Bayern on 30th September.
RB Leipzig in the USA: On the ground and online
The USA is a target market and an important part of RB Leipzig’s internationalisation plans. As a member of the Bundesliga, RBL is aiming to increase the popularity of European football beyond the content, particularly in the United States. The region around New York and New Jersey was selected as the location for the camps as this will be an important area in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which the USA is hosting along with Mexico and Canada.
Popularity on TikTok
In addition to the soccer camps, the club is also digitally active in the American market.
