In her everyday footballing life, Marjana Naceva is part of the BVB women’s second team battling for points in Kreisliga A. Recently, however, the 29-year-old was called up by the Macedonian national team for their international matches in Albania and Montenegro.

Naceva linked up with the team on 4 April to prepare for the two international matches. Three days later, she was in the starting XI in Albania. The friendly match got off to a good start for the North Macedonians, who took an early 1-0 lead, but Naceva & Co. ultimately suffered a 3-1 defeat. The midfielder played until the 80th minute.

Three days later, the second international match – this time in Montenegro – also ended 3-1. Naceva started again and was brought off in the 85th minute. “These were two strong opponents and very demanding matches. It is of course a different level compared to the Kreisliga. It was a lot of fun for me, despite the defeats.”
