CN18: a shining star
Christopher Nkunku:
- “Now it’s time for me to say ‘Au Revoir’ Leipzig. I am incredibly grateful to RB Leipzig and everyone at the club – my team, the coaches, the staff and especially the fans. I’ve had four unforgettable years here in Leipzig.
It was a big step for me in 2019 coming from Paris to a new country, but I was given a great welcome here from the first moment and we were then able to go on a journey together that has had an enormous impact on my career. At RB Leipzig, I became an international player, I have developed both as a footballer and as a person, and we have now been able top off this time with two cup titles.
RB Leipzig will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope that the opportunity will come in the future to come back to Leipzig as an away player and play in front of the great fans again!”
Max Eberl:
- “Christopher Nkunku came to Leipzig in 2019 as a promising talent. He has had a continuous and excellent development in his four years at RBL and has matured into a world-class player. In the past two seasons alone, he has raised his quality and therefore our game to a new level as a goal scorer, as a provider and above all as a team player.
As a club, we are very proud that a player has developed so well at RB Leipzig to now move to another top league and a top English club. Now we will find good solutions to fill the gap that Christo leaves behind.
We wish Christo every success in London and in his future career. He will remain closely associated with RB Leipzig through his special achievements and successes alone.”
Our four-year journey with Christo!
