The 21-year-old moved from FC Bayern München to Freiburg U19s in 2018. The defender was a key player in Freiburg’s U23s promotion season and has made a total of 30 appearances in the third division over the past two seasons, with his Bundesliga debut coming at home against RB Leipzig on 6th May.
“Kimberly is ready to move forward. He has always fought his way back well after injuries in the past and we really believe in him,” said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “Now he can get the necessary game experience and competitiveness he needs in the second division with the loan move to Paderborn.”
Both parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the contract.
