VfL Wolfsburg lost 3-2 at FC Augsburg on Saturday afternoon, suffering their fourth consecutive away defeat. Maxence Lacroix cancelled out Jeremie Frimpong’s opener shortly before half-time, but VfL could find no reply to the second strike from the Bundesliga’s form team, despite forcing them to hang on at the end.

Following the second defeat of the season at Borussia Dortmund last weekend, VfL fans can look forward to being back at the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday. The Danish forward struck once in each half (31′, 84′) in front of a crowd of over 28,000 at the Volkswagen Arena, taking his tally to seven Bundesliga goals this season as the Wolves produced a strong performance and impressed with their swift link-up play.

Sunday’s DFB Cup second round draw handed VfL Wolfsburg a tie against holders RB Leipzig at the Volkswagen Arena, with the game to be played on either 31 October or 1 November.

The Wolves’ men’s and women’s teams as well as numerous office employees, staff members and officials once again put on their green overalls on Wednesday to do voluntary work for good causes in Wolfsburg and the surrounding area. It was all in aid of the “Tomorrow together” day, where they had the opportunity to visit selected projects and make themselves useful on site in various ways. Originally under the motto “Moving together”, the CSR action day took place for the fifth time after 2013, 2016, 2018 and 2022. The number of participants this year underlines how established it is at VfL Wolfsburg, with over 200 people from the VfL family taking part – a new record.
