In sunny 33 degree heat, SV Werder Bremen faced SV Drochtersen/Assel on Sunday afternoon at the Stadion am Berliner Ring in Verden. After a fast-paced opening period with possession constantly changing hands and risky back-passes, D/A deservedly took the lead in the 33rd minute. At half-time, Ole Werner changed the whole eleven, as was planned. Shortly after the second half began, new signing Dawid Kownacki equalised with his first goal for the Green-Whites. Oliver Burke then gave Werder the lead in the 79th minute, making it 2-1. The first friendly of the 2023/24 season therefore ended in a victory.

New away kit now available

To mark the 100-year anniversary of the Danish kit supplier hummel, the design of the away kit looks back on the Danish national team strip from 1986. This was also leaned on the pinstripe look with the colours separating the two sides of the kits. The strip will also be worn by three Danish-born players: Kristian Pedersen, Mathias Olesen and Jacob Christensen.
